Description Jean Paget is in Malaysia in 1940 when the Japanese army invades. She is sent on foot to a women's prisoner-of-war camp. The roadmarch takes two years. Joe Harmon, an Australian prisoner, takes many risks to obtain food and medicines for the women. After the war, jean returns to England, believing Joe is dead. When she hears that he is alive and living in Australia, she sets out to find him.
